Roasters Choice Subscription 6 - Roast 9 of 9

The Old Man and His Coffee

As our Roasters Choice Subscription draws to a close, we can't help but feel that it marks the end of an era. Our CSA style subscription has run its course, largely due to feedback from our valued subscribers. Many expressed the preference not to track and fill out Google forms, and we've heard you.

This Week’s Roasts:

  • Dark Roast: Colombia Cajamarca Neftali Castro. This bean roasted to Full City+ evokes flavors of sweetened dark chocolate. Its dry fragrance hints at caramel, complemented by subtle tones of dried apple and walnut. Dive deeper and the wet aromas might remind you of honey and pastry dough, almost like a tempting slice of baklava, rounded off with a gentle floral undertone. It's perfect for espresso lovers.

  • Light Roast: Rwanda Macuba Dry Process. Given its popularity in this subscription, I've chosen to feature this Rwandan roast once more. Its fruit-forward character shines through regardless of roast level. The lighter roasts exude aromas of berries and chocolate-cherry cordials, infused with fruit liqueurs and jam. There's an aromatic berry quality, reminiscent of ripe blackberries, complemented by wine-like undertones. The berry vibrance brilliantly counters any sharpness, emphasizing the wild fruit flavors.

  • Roasters Choice: Espresso Blend from Africa and South America. This blend has been my personal favorite for my morning cup lately. Formulated for a robust body, it strikes a perfect balance between high and low tones, marked by chocolate roast flavors with a hint of rustic fruitiness. Roasting just up to the second crack emphasizes its fruited-chocolate flavors and brings out the rustic fruity notes.

Looking forward, I am thrilled to introduce the new subscription plan on our recently launched website: www.wileypie.com. Here, you can choose between a subscription or a single-bag purchase. While some aspects of our service have evolved, my commitment remains unchanged. I'll continue roasting every two weeks. If you sign up for the subscription mid-cycle, worry not; you'll be included in the subsequent roast. Check out our roasting schedule here  (https://www.wileypie.com/subscription-help).

Our website is in its infancy, and your feedback is invaluable. If you come across anything amiss or have suggestions, please don't hesitate to share.

From the depth of my heart, thank you. It has been a joy roasting for you during this subscription cycle. Your feedback and love for drinking coffee have been the driving force behind every roast.

Here's to more cups of coffee in the near future!
